The St Helen’s Sports Centre is a purpose-built centre which is open to club members outside school hours and during school holidays. The Sports Centre includes a Sports Hall, Dance Studio, Gym, and Swimming Pool.
The Sports Centre Commercial and Operations Manager, will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success of the sports facilities. Working with the Head of Enterprises they will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimise revenue streams, enhance customer experience, and promote the overall growth of the business whilst maintaining high operational standards and compliance for both School and Enterprise activity. This dynamic role requires a blend of business acumen, strong operational leadership skills, and a passion for sports and fitness.
This role requires individuals to work 37.5 hours per week. However, flexibility is needed to cover occasional Duty Manager shift patterns which includes weekends, early starts and late finishes.
It is essential for the successful candidate to have the following qualifications, experience, and personal attributes:
Degree or equivalent in Business, Sports Management, or related field.
Proven experience in a commercial management role within the sports and fitness industry.
Have or recently held a National Pool Plant operators’ qualification.
National Pool Lifeguard qualification (including First Aid at Work)
Swimming teacher or Fitness instructor qualification
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and strategic planning abilities
Proficient in budget management
Familiarity with sport facility operations and industry trends.
